About
As a jeweler, I aim to provoke critical discourse on societal inequalities and the complexities of immigrant identity in contemporary America. I understand jewelry not only as wearable art, but also as tangible artifacts that carry layers of cultural significance.
In my jewelry objects I use traditional metalsmithing alongside more experimental methods of making with laser engraving and laser welding to honor our past while also embracing the opportunities afforded to us by our families. By incorporating images and narratives from my own experiences as an immigrant, I strive to make work that serves as a conduit for dialogue, inviting viewers to reflect on their own journey living as part of the majority or apart from it.
